The time in the schools has become easier as the weeks go on. We are more and more comfortable with the kids and have learned how to communicate and the best ways to help in the El Palqui classes. In El Palqui we serve as an aid to the English Teacher, so it has taken some time to figure out how we fit in best. This week we played a game like dominos with several of the classes. Each "domino" had an action related to sports or hobbies on one end, and a picture of a sport or hobby on the other. The students had to match the dominos end to end with each verb matched with its corresponding picture. The kids loved it!
Wednesday we planned to have our very first movie night, but we had audio problems, so we were unable to show the entire movie. One awesome thing is that most of the people received a gospel tract at the beginning, so maybe some read the tract and will ask questions.
This weekend Michelle and I, along with the other three girls that are teaching English in the valley north of us went up to Vallenar, a city about 5 hours north of us. We stayed with a missionary family there and were able to do all sorts of fun things. Everything from playing games to going on a road trip to other sites in the area. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

As of right now the teachers in both of our schools have gone on strike. The beginning of this week will be spent renewing our visas so that we can stay through December. Hopefully Tuesday afternoon we will head back the La Villa so that we don't miss our exercise class!

Pray that God would teach me reveal through His Word the importance of prayer. I have been slowly learning through this semester, but I am continuing to learn the importance of praying for the people around me.
Pray that Michelle and I will be able to take the initiative and think of creative things to do for the duration of this strike. We don't know how long we will be out of school, maybe a few days, a week, or possibly the rest of our time in Chile.
This week, through a letter I received, I have been reminded of the promises and encouragement in Hebrews 10:19-24, "Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." God has been faithful in every turn and curve during my time in Chile to renew a heart of love for the Chileans, to encourage me, and to stretch and grow me. :)
